Clinton's Crocodile TearsThe President went on a tour of the mean streets of
America this week. After six-and-a-half years of ignoring poverty in
our country, except for "ending welfare as we know it" and
locking up increasing numbers of the underclass for crimes which middle
and upper-class people get away with every day, Bill Clinton felt that
he should do something to address these issues before his administration
ended.
WE MUST KEEP OUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT! It's ironic that those of the poor that still felt that there was any point in voting in our present money-dominated electoral system, voted for the President in overwhelming numbers. The reality is that they ARE getting their moneys worth under the present rules. The percentage of the Presidents attention they receive is just about equal to their financial contribution to his campaign. WE STOLE YOUR LAND FAIR AND SQUARE! Going to the Pine Ridge "Indian" Reservation, the President noticed that their unemployment rate approaches 75%. Yet he expects corporate America to finance "redevelopment" there, with some assistance from the government. Thats only just -- the government helped the corporations steal the land on which Native Americans had survived without the white mans help for thousands of years. Poverty and degradation are products of the Native Americans' contact with the capitalist system, not a natural result of their inability to adapt to modernity. CAPITALISM HAS TRIUMPHED -- HISTORY IS OVER -- GET OVER IT! After many years, Leonard Pelletier and other Native American activists are still locked up on trumped-up charges that resulted from them defending their people against government-sponsored terrorism during the FBIs Cointelpro campaign against those who oppose the present system. By keeping them imprisoned and trying to buy off a new generation of leaders with government funds, Clinton is perpetuating the System of Subservience that is the real root of the Capitalist System. WORK MAKES YOU FREE! Remember the last place that slogan was used, now that it's one of the more popular slogans in Bill Clintons America? It was a government reservation, a little spot of ground called Auschwitz. I find the parallels to be many and disturbing.
