The Party

No steak for anyone.
How can I indulge?
When I know children are starving.

No champagne for anyone.
How can I toast?
Drink to your health,
when children are thirsty.

No dancing allowed.
How can I dance with joy and abandon?
when children wear only blisters on their feet.

No music allowed.
How can I sing sweet notes?
When tiny ears hear only hopelessness?

No talking allowed.
How can I have a conversation with you,
if you do not care to help?

No admittance.
Where can you have a Party
if you have no home?

PARTY IS OVER
