From Bush to Gore

From beneath the bush
rose a Lush white crane
whose lusT for the heights
carried him through his lAst wing
and separated a feather, lOst in the wind.
To losE a friend for such a noble end
occurs frequently in common loRe.
The flight bleeds speed with invisible Gore.

Or:

Bush bust burt burn born bore gore.

Or:

From nader to shrub.

...

This has a form based on a word game invented, I think, by Lewis Carroll, called "Doublets" or "Word Ladder."
