At Machiavelli's:

A man in a white collarless shirt and round grey sunglasses sits at a small table before a plate glass window with rioting outside. He is in profile. Focus briefly shifts to action outside, shifts back to the man at the table sipping latte.

"This is really as interesting as I think I've seen the downtown in quite some time."

There is a distant shout and an indistinct figure outside the window throws something and runs away. Screaming. The man sips the warm latte cooly and gazes at the events outside.

Cut to: anarchist throwing billowing tear gas canister back at police.
