maybe mr. rhodes and mr. reagan read the same manual on how to be governor

some people who get to run for governor only get to do it a couple of times but mr rhodes ran at least five times and was governor of ohio for 16 years; maybe the rich people in your county got their own municipal airport that law enforcement also gets to use whenever they have to fly around eating donuts and looking for dope; i hear that there was a lot of road building too but i'm too young to remember (this guy was governor when i was born); anyway this guy got to be governor for 4 terms but not all in a row 'cuz he wasnt allowed to via the state constitution

see this guy was really popular even though he ordered the national guard into kent state and we all know what happened next; people were shot and only two of them were protesting anything; i mean, maybe the governor's office didnt say take those edgy kids in there with live

now he can't order us killed

ammo-they probably never thought about it-and thats what happened; after some informal stone throwing and taunting someone started shooting; i mean maybe mr. rhodes wasn't directly culpable for everything that happened that morning but it would have been a good idea if someone in the statehouse had thought to give them unloaded guns cuz you know, a fire in the rotc building isn't worth indiscriminately killing four students over even if that does get you re-elected to a third term in 1974

that was in 1970 and in 1979 the state issued a statement of regret and paid out some money to the survivors and the families of the dead there were 29 defendants; the eight soldiers who did the shooting went on trial for violating the civil rights of those shot and the families of the dead still get harassing phone calls from time to time and the city of kent just wishes that the whole damn thing would go away-some legacy huh? i wonder if in this day and age having two dissenters and two passersby shot would get the supreme court to anoint you president like upholding the death penalty seems to; anyway mr. rhodes died on monday and that means that we can go nuts protesting vietnam because now he can't order us killed
