A Christmas Dirge

Oh little town of Bethlehem

How still thy bled Arab lies

Above his deep and dreamless sleep

Sharon's U.S. copter flies

While in thy dark street shineth

A spark of righteous light

It glows and flows; to all, it shows

That Palestine is right

Oh little town of Bethlehem

When will thy worker rise

Throw off the rich man's Zion plan

Look Arab in the eyes

Then will your dark streets shine out

With pride that you did right

The hopes and fears of all our years

Will meet in you that night
