You are dreaming of a poem

That is spelled the same backwards and sideways
You are dreaming of a poem that will give you
A gold medal instead of the crummy bronze you
Have been working for the last four years you
Are dreaming of a poem that will make your tent
Have bricks and a fireplace you are dreaming of a
Poem that will not crash your helicopter into the
Warm ocean you are dreaming of a poem that will not
Leave you shot in the head somewhere in a country
You don't know you are dreaming of a poem that will
Buy your drugs for you are dreaming of a poem that will
Do your sleeping for you are dreaming of a poem that
Will will your children to know better you are not
A poem you are carbon-based life form dreaming
Of a poem that rhymes in some kind of ur formation
That will be understood in every language you are
Dreaming of a poem that is not you dreaming of a
Poem that causes international controversy by skating
Into all of the poems that preceded it you are dreaming
Of a poem that will give you death threats that are
All justified but only by evildoers you are dreaming of a
Poem that will purchase your oil companies and
Your votes at the same time you are dreaming of a
Poem and you are weeping and you are hungry
On international television and as you wipe a tear you
Realize that people in Hungary are critiquing your
Tear and you are dreaming there you are dreaming and
You are not a poem your life is not a poem your life
Is not a line and there is no war on terror anymore no
Longer there is only the Olympics and you staring at
A screen dreaming of a poem dreaming of a poem and you
Are not the Olympics and you are not a poem and you
Are not many things there you go you
Are there that which lies in wait,
Dreaming of a poem.
