CNN Graphic Designer Goes Insane

A CNN graphic designer went on a stock-photography and Photoshop-filtering rampage today that left readers baffled as they struggled to make sense of what was, ultimately, a senseless act of rebus. An eye and a strangely-outlined image of a man talking on a phone seemed to point at each other while a plane lifted off in the opposite direction in the graphic, whose salmon-and-grey color scheme invoked painful memories, for many, of the 1980's.

The designer showed no remorse, and is being held in connection with the graphic and several others, including one about "cyberporn" legislation juxtaposing a computer screen displaying a silhouette of an exotic dancer onto the steps of the capitol, as the scales of justice loom in the incongruously purple distance.
